Installation and Setup

With Transkribus On-Prem, you have the unique ability to process your images and data entirely on your own infrastructure, ensuring that your data never leaves your servers. Only statistical data is sent to our servers for licensing purposes—and even this can be done without direct internet access by exchanging licensing files.

Base Machine Activation

Activation of a base machine for image processing and model training. The number of base machines in your setup is determined by dividing the total hardware resources you want to use by the following specifications:

• CPU: 24 cores
• Memory: 32 GB
• Linux OS: Preferably Ubuntu 22 or newer

For current Standard Models, which are more lightweight, one base machine will yield an average throughput of three million pages per year.

GPU Activation

Activation of a single GPU for training Standard Models, running Super Models, and general accelerated processing. Recommended specifications include:

• CUDA: Version 10 or 11
• VRAM: 11–48 GB (recommended: Nvidia L4 or A40)

A GPU is required for running current Super Models and for training Standard Models.

Annual Licence Fee per Base Machine

An annual fee is required for the operation of Transkribus On-Prem for the training and application of handwriting and print recognition models in local operation. The fee is per base machine.

Annual Licence Fee per GPU

An annual fee is required for running GPUs with Transkribus On-Prem, which speeds up text recognition and is required for training. The price is per GPU.

Annual Support Package

A premium technical support package is available for Transkribus On-Prem and Transkribus Sites On-Prem, providing up to 32 hours of support per year. Additional hours are invoiced separately.

Introductory Workshop

Join our four-hour online workshop to master the AI training and processing features of Transkribus On-Prem. Ideal for historians, archivists, and researchers, the workshop provides hands-on experience and includes an interactive Q&A session.

Installation and Activation

We provide installation and activation of Transkribus Sites On-Prem for document search and visualisation in local operation. Your Transkribus Site can be customised to meet your institution's needs.

Annual Base Licence Fee—Up to 1 Million Pages

An annual base licence fee covers the operation of Transkribus Sites On-Prem for searching and displaying up to 1 million pages of text-recognised documents.
